KillSwitch

Post by iNtoxZ » Sun May 26, 2019 6:40 am

What toggle switches will be required to make Killswitch?

I bought 4 of these buttons Image

However, I need 4 toggle switches that give a constant signal and when the signal is given only when the buttons are pressed. Can you help me?

There's a couple of different ways to do this, although you might prefer pushbuttons instead.

One way is to put the button in between the tip of the jacks.

Another is to connect the jacks like normal, but also connect the button to both the tip and the ground on one jack.

I personally recommend using an on/(off) pushbutton, and using the second way. The sound will play as long as you hold down the button, and stop when you take your finger off the button.

you may also want having some momentary push buttons before the toggles...
make one side of the switch "null"(not connected... or connected to ground)
thanks for reminding me... order more Dark Blue 3-Position SPST Latching Mini Toggle Switches
& 2 Pin 2 Position SPST ON-OFF Switches

also, you can purchase an ON-OFF-(ON) switch that is spring loaded momentary on one side and hands free latching on the other side for a total of 3 positions. you can set it up for momentary mute or momentary audio. one way is in series and the other way is to ground the tip of the guitar cable to the sleeve (ground).

I've taken to using these for almost anything that needs a switch. Almost any switchable function of a pedal/synth is improved by having the option of momentary :)
