Wine is meant to go with food and that's how I like it best. I don't drink it often but when I do it's very nice. I'm a total rube about it and can't really tell the difference between one red and the next and one white and the next. Actually that's not strictly true, I like chianti for reds (give me the big bold flavors) and chardonnay and pinot grigio for whites, but I for sure couldn't tell an expensive aged wine from a medium-cheapo Robert Mondavi budget one.
I definitely DO NOT like the sugary kool-aid "wines." If you don't like wine, that's fine, don't fake it; just have a soda. Or learn to like real wine.
You know what's good? Proseco. It's a sparkling white wine like champagne - it's the Italian champagne, basically - but the missus and I like it much better than champagne. It's not as sweet, and it's lighter. It's great for cutting through rich flavors in say a fish or chicken dish. It's generally cheap, too, especially compared to champagne.
My name is Rufus, and that's the trufus.
