I work in a retail environment which has a repeating, randomized in-store playlist. The songs are determined by corporate, and individual stores have no control over them. A lot of the music is really bad, but they updated/added to the songs a few months ago, and have added even more since Christmas. They've started including a bit of 2nd-tier new wave/synth-pop, along with typical top 40 "alternative radio" staples from the likes of The Cure and Talking Heads and David Bowie.

It's almost bearable sometimes, hearing something like this in between the same 5 or so songs by Michael Buble and John Mayer that keep playing over and over:

That said, I've started to develop an appreciation for some of the 90's worst pop-country, and even some of the Michael Buble crap. I live for those moments when songs I actually like, beyond reprogramming, come on. My life is a joke, but at least I'm in on it.

If I ever stop posting for more than a year or so, then I died and I really liked you all. Until then, ignore this.

I get just a little bit gayer with each passing day.
It's really getting out of hand

I like the heavily fuzzed-and-filtered guitar hook a lot. Sounds like a synthesized cello patch almost. It has a pleasurably weird quality. I just keep imagining a strange, lanky girl with even stranger hair dancing to it. She's awkward and shy, but she really forgets herself and dances just as weirdly when she's out in the clubs and she hears a song that she likes. She don't care. She's just happy for a moment :gape:

Also, I think Richard's "pretty" stuff is his greatest. I never could get into a lot of the more, uh, aggressive, drilling stuff.
I am a huge fan of this track, though:

Easily in my top 5 for that particular project.
