Doris Wishman (June 1, 1912 – August 10, 2002) was an American film director, screenwriter and producer. She is credited with having directed and produced at least thirty feature films during a career spanning over four decades, most notably in the sexploitation film genre.

Doris Wishman was born on June 1, 1912, in New York City. Her father was a hay and grain salesman; her mother died when she was still a child.[1] After graduating from high school, she claimed to take acting lessons at the Alviene School of Dramatics in New York City in the early 1930s. She later worked as a film booker for her cousin Max Rosenberg, an independent film distributor who handled both art films and exploitation film fare during the late 1940s and early 1950s. During this same period she was married to a man named Jack Abrams and lived for a period of time in Miami, Florida. By her own account, Wishman began her film production career after Abrams' untimely death in 1958.

I was not aware of him too much, he's not as well regarded down here as someone as Seinfeld but then I saw Phillip Best post something about when he destroyed Ricky Gervais and I went on a rabbit hole. The guy is great, I may be riding the hype since Apatow just made a doc on him for HBO (that is very good) but I don't really care. Watching the first Season of Larry Sanders and it's genius.
And since Daric will prob read this I would like to ask him if he saw the Ricky Gervais thing because the philosophical connotations of that and the whole approach/method and execution he employs to dismantle the Gervais comedy/acting farse could be very well employed in your own futile attempts on this forum - I think you lack his finesse and sensibility (heart perhaps?). You may find it interesting, idk.
