Work Suvival Tactics

Post by Striations » Mon Sep 12, 2016 8:01 am

Hello

Of course every job is different but once you get down the line a little it all becomes Work.

For us poor souls who have to put up with this routine-What do you do to kill the time?

During work: Listening to music on headphones. Spending my spare time scribbling or doing word searches (these got to be a big thing for me at one time).
After work: Drugs and alcohol.

I haven't worked in years now, though. I actually miss not being a worthless, space-wasting, food-eating drain on my family. But I dunno where to get a job at this point. I am only qualified to sweep floors and wipe down toilets, yet everyone seems to want a managerial-position custodian who's been doing it for 40 years and shits, sweats and bleeds Betco cleaning products.

I'm a tarot reader. I talk to crazy people all day long. In between, I study tarot cards, draw pictures, and talk to ha-Shaitan, Lord of the Flies and of The House.

They mostly want to know of their love life. I don't have a love life (I'd have to actually feel love to do that, right?), but, I go with a combo of personal intuition and vision, and what the cards say. But, why the fuck am I telling you all? (Shrugs.)

My friend stared working as a production assistant at Kink.com

I wish that someday I could just make porn all day long.

i have a really hard time dealing with work. all the zombies trudging about. stupids with a paycheck. yeah, work is hard. hard for me to watch. insane ant colony. what do they think theyre doing? if you like pretty polly, you grab it. the lord giveth, and the lord taketh away. given food, water and fresh air... locked in a box for ransom. work = insanity. kill the rich, eat the children. now thats an honest living.

No matter what you try to do, it will be unfulfilling, the time you gave is lost and you can't get it back, not even with crumbles like listening to music or playing games hidden or trying to make something productive for yourself because work drains you from within. Work is hell. And my work is easy as shit. I get to watch the movies I want ffs, I am alone in a room and no one cares! Kill me.

easy work is the hardest. it really gives you time to think about what a tool you are, and all the better things you could be doing. hard work and pop music is the only way. all else is drudgery

My current job is utterly brainless, which is ideal since I can just drift off and think about other stuff.

My old job was hell because it was slow and boring with long periods of absolutely nothing, but any tiny mistake could potentially cost the company hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds - which meant I had to stay mentally engaged, even when nothing/next to nothing was happening. I also got a ton of abuse from customers on the phone, which can be tough to deal with.

My survival technique at that job was a blend of doodling cartoon characters, writing mean spirited comments about abusive customers while speaking nicely to them on the phone, and occasional trips to the toilet where I would violently masturbate simply as stress relief.

I'd say it made the job easier - but that job ended with a complete psychological breakdown (granted there were much larger factors at play there, namely my dad dying).
