I guess the problem is I'm more interested in actual harsh noise/ HNW than theoretical jliat harsh/HWN, I can actually listen to the former for one thing and not just read a bunch of arguing about it

HNW isn't indistinguishable from any natural or many accidental noises at all tho.
it isn't.

it is difficult to weight the quantity of natural noises that do / not sound like HNW. maybe you should try? though like before [i forget what we were talking about... yeah, spinoza] i think that those sorts of questions are pretty meaningless.

anyway, i dunno it seems like i can run anything through a doepfer comparator and it turns into HN. weird.

i don't see what that would achieve other than perhaps proving that the STDEV of HNW is indistinguishable from natural sound.

Sure - that's cool!

But i got involved via computing - and when asked to present something for Kent University i used that as a way into the subject. Other than saying i just liked noise.
And there is nothing wrong with that.

agreed on this

but

might disagree to this. i've not had any atom or toothpick convos yet. maybe i should try that.
