In a studio you'd probably use a second mic to mic the amp. Also I'm pretty sure it's bad advice to tap the speaker wires or use the speaker out especially if you have no idea what you are doing which very much applies to you.

i am not using the speaker out, nor tapping the wires -- obviously. as the splitter cable from the mic works fine.

what should i consider?

I only said it was bad advice to use the speaker out not that you are doing that. Also I did not see where you confirmed that the splitter cable worked only that you had ordered it. Also if it works just fine then why do you need to consider anything else. Also I did just make a suggestion about how a studio would do it.

so anyway, WHY should i take the signal of the mic over the signal of the headphone jack... as a feedback n00b?

Well neither are line level signals so may either be weak or too hot for the rack.. at least the headphone may have a volume control.

This is why a studio would mic the amp and run that through a mixer before sending it to processing so that there is a buffer.

Connecting a powered out like ext speaker or tapping the speaker wires is a good way to destroy $14k rack system . You never ever send amplified signals to an audio input other than an actual speaker. You might as well stick a fork in a wall outlet.
