Are you on a personal computer? If you don't own one, buy one of those. Pirate everything. A lot of software is free, even.
Download Audacity and use the "Import Raw" function to import non-audio files as RAW audio data. FREE NOISE.

Here's something I just crapped out in literally ~2 minutes (minus upload time) using free software (Audacity, GranuLab):
https://vocaroo.com/i/s1PrNXhuCtMb
Even the upload service was free.
i was thinking more along the lines of pedals and stuff like that
i'd go for the the distortion pedals
computers do most types of effects well enough
but even the best and most current hi gain distortion plugins sound worse than cheap pedals
so probably something with "metal" in its name + a fuzz pedal

for a 100% otb setup i'd consider cheapo multifx pedals
actually made full tracks using just two of those at some point (korg ax3b + zoom 707)

another neat thing to get is a contact mic
because then everything in your home becomes an extra noisemaking tool

maybe a xenyx 802 for preamp abuse & no input shenanigans

mix and match to taste :)

Since you do keep bringing it back up - it is obvious by what I wrote when I started this thread w :potato: h :potato: y I did it. You know I'm laughing at how fucking stupid you are when I did this t :poop: o :poop: p :poop: i :poop: c :poop: . If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?
Would make a p :poop: r :poop: o :poop: f :poop: i :poop: t :poop: . . There's your problem is?

*dies of laughter*

200 X $1 flea-market tape recorders / walkmans / tapes / LPs / noise-making kid's toys / cables / bits of scrap metal.

Well, even today there was a video of some random and scummy looking pharmaceuticals by mail, website or discount televisions it turns up..

if you have $200 to spend on noise music gear then you are starting with way too much money. you need to start with $2 like everyone else. then when you finally have a good day asking people for spare change you can buy better gear for like $10 maybe. members sell all kinds of stuff here. you can probably low ball them and they will take it. aim low and you will have a free ride for like a whole year.

All my earliest stuff was recorded on boomboxes with built-in speaker-mics over shitty numetal/post-grunge Street Team promo cassettes. Them's were the times what we lived in.

I got a boring job as a clerical officer and then a bank loan to buy a Synthi AKS and a couple of reel to reel tape recorders.

I have 1/4 inch tapes - but no deck, but I made a cassette version of some pieces at the time. And this in turn was released on 3" CD over 20 years ago now! Professional made by GZ Digital in what was then communist Czech Republic.

I still have a couple of dozen, if you want a copy PM an address.

Oh - and just to note the web addresses on the cd sleeve are no longer valid.
