How to go about gaining recognition as a noise artist?

Talk about noise music. Reviews, rants, whatever.

I've had this question ever since I had the first of few people purchase things off of my bandcamp, and no amount of shilling to various randos and labels has increased the viewcount of my noise project.
Don't feel bad, when Xome came to Fla. (first and only show) All the facebook noise experts didn't have a clue who he was. :wall:

I've been doing noise to get a wikipedia page (my idea of fame) and after all this time, no wiki page, no recognition, a few blogposts but still :wall:

After awhile, you gotta ask yourself is this fun or worth it, you'd think a "small" genre with plenty of subgenres wouldn't be so hard to break into but the truth is, the most 'famous' people, the decade+ record label heads, etc. have been putting in major work with little to no ROI

Personally, I make noise just to use titles and cover art I'd normally never use in my more mainstream projects now, that makes it worthwhile

Play the best sets you possibly can, support other noise artists, go to shows even if you're not playing, don't be a dick.

Well that is an easy problem to solve.. I'd make it for you but I'm not sure what your project name is

Don't support the scene. It's mostly a bunch of self-indulgent idiots trying to climb one another to fucking nowhere. There's not even enough of the dorks to change a lightbulb, let alone reach their own personal "Masonna on 120 Minutes" moments. Stop caring about it entirely.

Go to shows, have fun, make real friends, maybe release stuff and look for live opportunities if you have enough faith in what you're doing to honestly believe it might be remotely worth anyone else's time (the 80's are over; "Nihilism" is played out). But have as little to do with "the scene" as possible, especially if you're only interested in networking. They are too. And however negligibly far you get with that mentality is just a matter of how much cum you can fit in your tummy, not how "talented" anybody is.

How much? I want to go to the Grammy's before I die.

Seperate note: A good way to get noticed is get on that Adult Swim compilation, I think I heard about that through normal channels. Which brings up a second sub-method is mixing your genre with others because Clipping and Death Grips
If I ever stop posting for more than a year or so, then I died and I really liked you all. Until then, ignore this.
