Hotspots for noise artists in Portland, OR

Post by inkblot » Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:53 pm

been a while since I last posted here, almost a year haha.

Just recently started performing in my bedroom and have plenty of recordings/demos already, as well as a few written songs (none of which I've put out yet but it's coming). Don't have a whole lot of equipment but trying to save up to buy better gear.

I live decently close to Portland, and if you live in the Pacific NW you'd know how much of a hotspot Portland is for "interesting" music genres/groups/etc. However, I've barely been in the area and don't know much about it but, considering how close I live to it, I do have plenty of opportunity to get to know the place.

I'm wondering if anyone on this site happens to know about a community/group of noise creators/enthusiasts (labels, venues, etc.), out of curiosity?

pdx is over, the place was cool but now is just a cultural wasteland utopia shithole, devoid of intrigue, overrun by poser douchebags, run dont walk as far as you can in the other direction, it will only get worser

Move to the places that all the people in Portland, Austin, Seattle, etc. were running away from. Make your own fun and get lots of ticks on your back. Just make sure you have a friend to tweeze them out. I am pretty sure I've had a tick head buried next to one of my shoulder blades for the past fifteen years because I tried to remove it myself with a pair of scissors. Not good.

Wow, if you live near there and your asking us? That's really bad.
My Oregon go to folks are JUICE MACHINE
Call them, make a hand full of tapes and plan a tour.
Then rub our noses in your good fortune.
