Eating the universe Tape. Out now!

DEKONSTRUKTOR is a russian band that dwells in the realms of doom and disruption since almost ten years.
Evolving on a crushing doom metal basis, the style of the band also comes with influences of old industrial and experimental music.

The outcome sounds greasy, quite suffocating, infernal, rusty, disconnected, epic, quite tortured, and can remember the industrialized doom disconnection of GODFLESH (Streetcleaner), the doom and fuzz of ELECTRIC WIZARD (In a more tortured manner), the industrial subprojects that came from the extreme metal scene in the early 90's, perhaps the most monolithic moments of very early CATHEDRAL, the heaviness of the swiss band SLUDGE (Naked scarecrow),with touches of VOIVOD...

Here are new reviews of DEKONSTRUKTOR!

LORDS OF METAL Webzine (Hol)
Somebody reading this depressed? Then browse on, because the album 'Eating The Universe' by the Russian Dekonstruktor might suck the last bit of zest for life from your body. And that for the second time, because this album is a re-release. The original saw the light of day already in 2014, so to speak, because the music sounds like it is completely written and recorded in the dark. The gloomy atmosphere that the songs evoke feels somewhat raw if you just stepped out of the positive vibes of Christmas, but music should leave an impression and that is what 'Eating The Universe' really does. Dekonstruktor plays doom metal of the slowest kind and with minimal instrumentation, very low tuned and distorted, so it's not an easy one. But it is challenging music, because the band also experiments with a-typical song structures. If you need some points of reference, you can think of a mix between Godflesh and Electric Wizard. The songs have a long, slow build up which is common in this genre, but for example the last two minutes of the title track are of a certain beauty. So if you like music that challenges you, if you are not averse to any experiments and your mind is open to some extraterrestrial sounds, then you should definitely listen to 'Eating The Universe'. This is typically an album that evokes conflicting thoughts. First basic reaction is 'what the fuck is this?' but then you wake up from a certain daze and it appears that you have listened to the entire album on repeat five times. So good luck to you.

BATTLE HELM Webzine
I love music in all its shapes and forms but even I have my limitations. And as much as I am open to discovering new things every now and then I do stumble upon things that make even me speechless. Sometimes because it is so good that I don’t know what to say, and sometimes because it is so beyond description. DEKONSTRUKTOR are not that hard to understand. This is heavy, drone-like doom with a slight psychedelic touch. Not too much variations but then you don’t really need that much variation to make it good. And this is the kinda stuff that I like. Heavy as hell and slower than paint drying. 3,5/5

ROCKBLOG BLUESSPOT Webzine (Ger)
