Re: Any melancholic Noise?

Hmm... I'd recommend the first track on Pure Skin by Navicon Torture Technologies. It doesn't sound like any of the examples you mentioned per se, but as far as "melancholic" and "romantic" go, that was the very first thing that came to my mind. NTT in general should lead you down the kind of paths ...

Re: Ten years

More trivia, because what the hell: - The cover is a negative of a photo of my desk, which was covered in doodles at the time. The quote (it's hard to read but it's in plain sight) is from Nirvana's song "Lithium." - Insomniacs was originally planned to be followed up with a companion piece, The Whi...

Ten years

https://ia802700.us.archive.org/15/items/Mlf-InsomniacsAnonymous/InsomnanonfinalcoverCopy.jpg Ten years ago today I put out my first album, Insomniacs Anonymous (under the name My Lovely Figment), on the legendary Smell The Stench netlabel (R.I.P.). Re: WORST noise album?

Honestly... yeah. It was one of my first “noise” albums, bought from amazon of all places, and I was severely disappointed in contrast to the youtube videos I saw of them playing live. It was just kind of boring, that’s it. There was a Prurient album I also got around the same time, probably mid-lat...

Re: Dictaphone recommendations

For quick & dirty mono recording in decent quality, get Easy Voice Recorder for your phone or tablet. For semi-pro, 24/96 high quality stereo field recordings, like Jon said, Zoom or maybe Tascam is the way to go. I can't speak for Tascam from personal experience, but I love my Zoom H4N. A bit price...

Re: Longest Noise Album?

Even on bandcamp, you're unfortunately still about 12 hours short: https://grindcorekaraoke.bandcamp.com/album/the-24-hour-japanese-torture-comedy-marathon Necroanal put out a 40+ hour song when bandcamp was still in it's infancy: https://www.discogs.com/Necroanal-Looks-Like-Feces-Smells-Like-Excrem...

Darren Wyngarde (Filthy Turd) status?

I haven’t seen any releases from him since 2016, and the Burselm Crypt (his most recent label) bandcamp page is inexplicably missing the vast majority of it’s discography. Where did he go?

Re: noise on a budget

Truthfully, the generic noiseguy answer would be a behringer mixer (~$80-120), at least one distortion pedal, preferably a Death Metal but really most are simply slight variations of the same old idea (~$10-50+), a contact mic/drum trigger ($1-20), and cables. Add an amp for ~$5-100 extra.
