Re: Merzbow throws toys out of pram

I've never understood anything about the draw to him at all. If someone has a suggestion I'll follow it up with a good listen, but have honestly never heard anything even marginally interesante from this dude You have to consider the time frame in which he started and the fact that he is still at i...

Seriously doe....suck a dude's dick onstage with one of them stethoscope mics duct taped to his nutsack. Then run it thru distortion and reverb.

Re: Control / repeatability vs. Improvisation / chaos

Found a HNW group on Facebook that are so unbelievably uppity and confused when it comes to defining parameters of microgenres. Took a long 10+ yr break from paying attention to what anyone said about music, as it's irrelevant (besides fun back and forths like this one) and this group has reminded m...

Re: Control / repeatability vs. Improvisation / chaos

I'm of the opinion as soon as one 'controls' deliberately with some criteria the process of sound making / manipulation then it ceases to be noise. This of course would include planning and noting down setups for future use. Likewise the finished 'work' i dont listen with any 'aesthetic' in mind. O...

Re: What You Reading?

The Phantom Blooper (sequel to The Short Timers, the book Full Metal Jacket was adapted from).....based on actual Newseek reports of a Caucasian defector leading a band of Viet Cong.

Scathing, violent, biting.....and next level hilarious. Hasford probably my vote for most underrated author ever.
