Re: Igor and the Lunatics (1985)

I haven't seen that in a long time, but my sister had a copy. I've wanted to buy my own copy, but it never seems to happen when I have money to spare.

Re: eurorack.jpg

yeah i saw that ^^ is it ironic? well... no? who died and made you Alanis Morrisette? :D They started playing so much AM and No Doubt at work, it's crazy. I can't help but break out in laughter when I hear that stuff. For the first time, today, I heard them play Spiderwebs by No Doubt. I have to la...

Re: Bass-heavy eq / "thickener" pedals

PS: Look into sub-bass generators. I've never tried the meatbox or any other sub-bass generators, but I have used the sub generator on the Alesis Akira. It's a cool effect in my limited experience!

Re: Bass-heavy eq / "thickener" pedals

I loved the ODB-3 when I had one. I used it almost exclusively as a "thickener", too. I almost never mixed in the distortion, I just adored the coloration ("thiccness", if you will) it added. I need to buy one again! Hopefully it'll be like what I remember if I do. Mine had the stacked knob broken o...

Re: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (August 2019)

I lost interest as soon as I saw the previews, but I didn't want to be a Negativnancy, so I didn't say anything. At any rate, I think it'd be possible to make a successful film adaptation of these books, but this likely isn't it. I seems so uninspiring from the previews. I feel like I'd be very, ver...

Re: what is your fav all in 1 noisebox?

This thread has reminded me: I've wanted to commission a big-ass box Sirkut multi-effect. I want a giant fucking aluminum box with flaky, oven-baked spray paint finish and no labels. And it'd be just a horrid a noise monstrosity with all the Sirkut effects and a SNB in some sort of patchable configu...

Re: merzbow is tagginig his releases 'emoviolence'

my bandcamp auto - tags all of my releases as emoviolence because we are primarily a screamo label. merzbow has nothing to do with these tags, i just didnt bother removing them. a prime example of emoviolence would be the "Nuvolascura" album on my bandcamp, if anyone is genuinely curious. (powervio...

Re: Your recent purchases:

I'm not too upset with the purchase, despite my criticisms. I'm sure I'll figure it out better with time and tinkering and find a place for it. I can learn to appreciate a glorified Yak Bak in a box. I love shit like that! I think I was just expecting a little bit more on the far-out granular glitch...

Re: Your recent purchases:

The offset noise is pretty fucking maddening, yeah. I dropped the SD card inside again, too... Also, I thought I was going with a fool-proof method by overwriting the original SD files with my own audio, set to the required file settings by pasting audio into actual native files and then overwriting...

Re: Your recent purchases:

The Microgranny is annoying poop so far. I haven't had much time with it, though. I'm going to load some samples directly to the SD card. I've only sampled with the built-in mic previously, and the results weren't impressive, at least not from what I was able to produce while drunkenly trying to rec...

I ordered a microgranny this morning on impulse. I hope it ends up being as fun as it seemed during those desperate hours before work.

It just dawned on me that I've had empty vodka bottles stuffed in the back of my gear table for days now, and that it's possibly something worth contemplating. I had to take a picture. It's funny/depressing.

Whatever happened to Alex from Australia? He was one of the first users I "connected" with, back when I first started posting here. He just stopped coming around, though.
