Re: Microcassette Day exclusive: Dictafraud!

Does anyone have recommendations for good handheld dictaphones with proven reliability? Every silver Sony POS I've had and used extensively fucked up within two to three years. I've been through about 3-4 dictaphones all together, and finally said "fuck this" after the last one crapped out. I still ...

Re: eerie indiana

I remember it. It was a kid's/YA horror series, a bit like Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark? , with maybe a soupçon of Twin Peaks vibery, or at least the ham-fisted, Joss Whedon-esque equivalent of an attempt at. But it was episodic in nature, not an anthology series like the previous two or...

Farts mostly. I guzzle a lot of Imodium in a vain attempt to counteract my furious alcoholic diarrhea, but it mostly just results in extreme gassiness.

Re: Is plagiarism possible?

Not quite on topic, but I want to instigate a sub-genre of "noise" called Merzbeat. Total mid-2000's laptop Merzbow copycat-worship. Something strange about this era. I don't even think it's his best (a very mixed bag), but there's something addicting about it. Making similar sounds is a very zen-li...

Recommend more like: Tor Lundvall, Парки, "SAW"-era Aphex Twin, etc.

I'm looking for more ambient music similar to these artists. Introspective, isolating, generally sad. Relatively minimalistic. Sometimes lo-fi. Highly monochromatic palettes:

Re: Loop Pedal is an anagram of Poop Ladle

I'm really stoked on this.

"Poop Ladle" is going to be the moniker for any and all bent/rehoused phrase recording toys I slap together (or re-slap, considering I have so many almost hopelessly malfunctioning and dissected things) in the future.

Re: Tell me about your day...

There were some people who came in to work on electronic equipment at work today. One of them was a Conservatively-skulleted, ginger-haired guy who had to be at least 45. Every time I walked by him, I heard snatches of his loud conversations. I think he was talking to someone on a Bluetooth headset....
