Re: midi controller

I had an MPD32 when I worked at a store that sold akai products. I got a discount. they are good in some ways but the pads were never as good as the MPC2000. then to make it even worse, the pads were affected by cold and moisture after leaving it in my car for a week. maybe ice crystals or oxidation...

eurorack advice needed

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1024576 not really sure if I missed something. it is hard to decide what to include and what to leave out. I may still delete the uLFO because of the size. I have contact mics for springs and plates and shit. lower left corner. that also gives me two channel...

Re: Cut records at home for $1100

with the vestax, they don't last as long as a pressed record. this is basically just acetate 50 plays max.

Re: Show us yr DIY!

your PCB design will get rejected by the fab or they will just round the sharp edges inside and out. the inside corners are impossible with a round milling bit. the outside edges will probably chip off and break during normal fast production milling speeds. so like I said rejected or modified you wi...

Re: Your recent purchases:

I like it. I heard that version of the wogglebug has a PLL. I am curious if I should get the doepfer PLL and the quantum rainbow or maybe just get this version of the wogglebug.

Re: Show us yr DIY!

I found missing wires in an old cgs schematic so I traced it from pictures of both sides of the PCB on the CGS website. the 4046 pin 6 and 7 is just a cap. nothing else. I have the input to the hex inverter connected to pin 2 of the 4046 on my drawing. I don't know if Ken tried to upload a corrected...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

The cgs schematic has errors in it. You will not have a working V8 simulator unless you trace the PCB. I have the schematic. I will look it it later to try and help you out.

Re: Crushed Velvet Noise

this paper is filled with non-technical descriptions. bold claims without definitions of the terms used. dubious conclusions. the paper actual contradicts itself. you can tell it was written by a musician recycling some old old papers to write a new paper. you have to be really good at being critica...

Re: Audio Electronic Circuit Schematics

I'm in the process of eliminating the UJT completely but the amount of shit it takes to do what that one part does is insane. I have dual comparators and logic gates right now but all very early stages. I think I can make a VC LFO first that does 0.01Hz maybe 0.001Hz. I might also make a VCO with ab...

Re: Audio Electronic Circuit Schematics

it will not be a linear ramp unless you have a constant current source. I used a current mirror pnp with a potentiometer on the bottom left. UJT on the bottom right. then later I added all this other shit. someone told me that the two trim pots do the same thing. you can swap the 20K + 90K for one 1...

not so easy to find Unijunction transistors nah bro. still here. UJT is like time cube. it will never die. https://www.newark.com/multicomp/2n2646/unijunction-transistor-0-3w-50ma/dp/35C0693 http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Oscillators%20LFOs%20and%20Signal%20Generators/Moog%2090...

Re: How to make feedback/vocals on a live set

I think eatyourguitar maybe thinks the mic output wont drive the guitar effects I don't think it will not work. I think it will work ok on some guitar pedals and low volume muddy noisy hissy on other guitar pedals. a bit random. it also depends a lot on the mic. so much can go wrong here before you...

Re: How to make feedback/vocals on a live set

don't ever use a phantom powered mic on a loud sound stage for feedback. you will damage the mic since it is most likely a condenser. they also have way too much gain. a condenser mic is designed to pick up mouse farts. as for plugging a mic into any random guitar pedal as a preamp, I would be skept...
