Re: Your recent purchases:

Ahhhh, Grave Digger... I have many fond memories of Monster Natonals. I went almost every year with my dad from like ages 2-12; Grave Digger easily had the best artwork out of them all, but most of those trucks from like the mid-90's to early-00's were so fun to look at. That and the giant t-wrex (g...

Re: Noise lamps

Thanks for the intel. There's another video with the same setup only she's running through a power drill this time instead of a lightbulb, but as far as I can hear, neither the drill nor bulb impact the timbre of the sound in a noticeable way. A neat trick for sure, but I don't think I'd ever have a...

Re: Isn'tses Fort Processor - psychogeographic pcb-art noise synth!

That is one of the craziest looking PCBs I've ever seen: It's totally you.
Sounds sort of like something I built out of a book once with 4011 ICs.
Great work

Re: Noise lamps

I was actually hoping you could explain what's going on in that video, namely: -How is this wired? She explains it briefly but I can't visualize how the process works at all. -Is the lightbulb somehow getting power from the output of the amplifier(s?)? -She says the output is going through the bulb ...

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (August 2019)

I normally don't get excited about movies because I hardly watch any, but I really hope they do this one justice. Stephen Gammell's illustrations from the original books had a lasting impact on me and I think for many in my generation. Some 30+ years later they're still striking and deeply unsettlin...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Weird request, but... can I see the underside of that board? I want to get into the habit of using perfboard in the future, but from the ones I'm seeing online, I don't quite get how the ones with the "scratch-away" strips work. I've only ever used perf twice and it was a disaster; again I want to g...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Yes, in fact I've been sitting on a few near-identical white noise machines (not like the one I did this year but you've probably seen ones like them in thrift stores) for the purpose of "mass-producing" them for sale. I still a ways from getting around to them, though. I could part with either of t...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Yeah, I even have a list next to my desk of "universal bends" including starve pot, mute, bypass, etc. Funny enough that halloween flashlight had some good starve sounds. Usually those kinds if toys, the ones where the ICs are covered up by black blobs, simply cut off the sample they're playing earl...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

http://i67.tinypic.com/k0ripv.jpg Two fairly simple bends: just switched 1/8" jacks. There was nothing else of interest to add for either of yhem, except maybe a resistor to smooth out the volume a bit. Also both of them have this sort of delay period when being switched from jack output to speaker...
