True

I was just thinking you can't get a really good DOING sound if the springs are attached to something solid like that, but yeah, I suppose you need an input too, if you like that kind of thing :chin:
I think trying to quantify music is one of the biggest wastes of time in the world, like discussing your favourite colour or deity or pizza topping. People should realise that and get on with their life.

Yeah I just meant in order for it to be a "reverb" but it would also need a few other electronics..

I suppose one could always detach the end of one of the springs for a BOING sound but yeah seems a bit overpriced.. I was selling 4way bitchboxes for less and they came with far more parts...

*spring update*

Found a cheaper alternative that seems to do the same thing. A second hand one is currently £70 which seems more reasonable to me.

Plus as already stated I suck at soldering so unless anyone here wants to make me one I might go for it

I have it, it's a cool sound source. But beware that the springs are tuned and produce a note when plucked so if you want something more noisy you might want to replace the springs or buy something else.

Buy a guitar, put springs on it. Probably cheaper, infinitely more usable, someone posted theirs earlier. You just need to be able to use a screwdriver, or a hammer and nails. Look at this bass with springs on.

I think trying to quantify music is one of the biggest wastes of time in the world, like discussing your favourite colour or deity or pizza topping. People should realise that and get on with their life.

A LYRA 8 Black Edition that came in the post this morning just in time for my anniversary. Really weird bit of specialist kit.
