Here, as i previously mentioned. just rough idea of how it would look like.
PS: i don't usually do cutnpaste as it is very tiresome and annoying to do but seeing some of you liking it...
excuse me for the shitty aesthetic.

What is the guideline for submission. i had made few zine myself in the past but i never take part in creating zine communally (let alone something as obscure as noise).
concepts (see various other posts on this forum)
what is noise to you
Why does (and should) noise exist
Noise in everyday life
Your first perceived experience of noise music
People that don't like / understand noise
Does anybody really understand noise?
Notes from local noise scenes around the globe
Etc

So who wants to take the reigns on this?

I have the means and experience to run this project..

I can receive page layouts either digitally or by snail mail, scan them and print them with a laser printer which is what I do with other zines I have made.

I can eat the cost of postage in the US for sure but donations would be appreciated. I suppose there could also be a printable version for overseas or if the overseas peeps could pitch in for postage that'd be cool.
Looks like you have stepped forward... excellent.

I will try and put something together at the weekend, presume there is no deadline yet depending on what content is submitted.

Happy to act as UK / Europe distributor to save on carriage costs, send me a bunch once printed :) We can talk costs / logistics nearer the time.

semi random rant
issue #0 is a "Crumby" idea circa 1968
that original issue of ZAP COMIX is bagged and on my wall(decor)
since it's supposedly "AVANTGARDE"
how about we start with issue #-1v or #G (ground) and schematic symbol
not super important detail
yet something for pondering
or we keep issue #0 concept as tribute for ZAP/Crumb
either way just figure would make mention of that
no biggie

FYI
noise (n.)

early 13c., "loud outcry, clamor, shouting," from Old French noise "din, disturbance, uproar, brawl" (11c., in modern French only in phrase chercher noise "to pick a quarrel"), also "rumor, report, news," apparently from Latin nausea "disgust, annoyance, discomfort," literally "seasickness" (see nausea).

Another theory traces the Old French word to Latin noxia "hurting, injury, damage." OED considers that "the sense of the word is against both suggestions," but nausea could have developed a sense in Vulgar Latin of "unpleasant situation, noise, quarrel" (compare Old Provençal nauza "noise, quarrel"). Meaning "loud or unpleasant sound" is from c. 1300. Replaced native gedyn (see din).

noise (v.)

late 14c., "to praise; to talk loudly about," from noise (n.). Related: Noised; noising.

I'm sending something very soon and I told Forever Escaping Boredom about this, so either I'll send you some promo stuff or we'll both send it. I plan on making copies and leaving little stacks all over Tampa Bay.

Also.. just wanted to state the obvious.. don't forget Bob

Hi! I used this etymology in a paper ... did you follow the original din ...and see how deep the rabbitt hole goes...?
Replaced native gedyn (see din).”
Here again we see the two threads of noise, the anthropomorphic subjective ‘discomfort’ and another idea less so in the origins of “din”.
“din (n.) Old English dyne (n.), dynian (v.), from Proto-Germanic *duniz
(cognates: Old Norse dynr, Danish don, Middle Low German don "noise"),
from PIE root *dwen- "to make noise" (cognates: Sanskrit dhuni "roaring, a torrent").
before 900; Middle English din (e) (noun), Old English dyne, dynn; cognate with Old Norse dynr ‘noise’, Old High German tuni, Sanskrit dhuni ‘roaring’”13
The roaring torrent is not a human sound as such – but an example of Harsh Noise or even Harsh Noise Wall.
“…and his voice as the sound of many waters.” 14 The Book of Revelation, Chapter 1 The voice of The Son of Man…

And just to follow this tangent a little further, but not here in the detail it perhaps deserves…
“A dhuni is (according to the Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc.) a sacred site represented as a cleft in the ground. This cleft is emblematic of the yoni or female vulva and generative organ.- A dhuni therefore represents a site of worship dedicated to Shakti.
“The etymology of the word Dhuni is connected with the Sanskrit root dhvan, to dun or to din. Sayana explains it by bending or shaking, and Theodor Benfey, too, translates it by to shatter.
dhuni adj. roaring
dhuni adj. boisterous
dhuni adj. sounding
dhunI f. river
dhUni f. agitation
dhUni f. shaking
dhuni f. river
Shakti - meaning "Power" or "empowerment," is the primordial cosmic energy and represents the dynamic forces that are thought to move through the entire universe in Hinduism.
Shakti responsible for creation, it is also the agent of all change. Shakti is cosmic existence as well as liberation, its most significant form being the Kundalini Shakti, a mysterious psychospiritual force. Shakti exists in a state of svātantrya, dependence on no one, being interdependent with the entire universe.
Kundalini has been called an unconscious, instinctive or libidinal force.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhuni

WOW
Bravo!!!
Dankes Jilat
Eye was being slacker just copy pasting from etymology online
have seen them not correctly go down wabbit hole or instead a mole hole
from previous experiences with them and purposely hidden root results
have the original first edition source book they hacked
"Dictionary of Word Origins by Shipley"
should have kept tracking origin down the rabbit hole
for proto germanic norse referencing icelandic
then getting off my arse for grabbing hindi/english dictionary from bookshelf
yet honestly reading sanskrit drives me bonkers sometimes
so it seems the vibration of the word was corrupted in Rome
making it "Noxious" nasuea
intonation is crucial
rule of metaphysics
"sound always supersedes spelling in any script"
reminding/proving why eye even like contributing here
because some of you actually have higher volt/amp electricity
powering your cerebral cortex
neural patched via dendrites that aren't bad"shorted out"
making you mental "freaks" in modern sick society
unlike easily programmed/controlled/herded "normal human cattle"
your etymological research is way more "empowering" than the old roman "dead end"

recently contemplating some noise drone pedal design
that can be made rather inexpensive
for including schematic in Noise Guide Zine
sort of for giving that oldschool popular electronics/polyphony experimental feel
if anyone want collaborating on design then post here
not attempting infringing on anyone elses "niche"
merely an idea
can make it 9v on the cheap with 324s & 741s plus noise gens
maybe give easy stripboard
if anyone wants doing pages for such a project that is good also
figure this thread needs getting some more activity
