Although at times, a major fuck up, I will always respect him for being true to himself. He seemed like someone I wanted to hang out with, a rarity amongst celebrities.

Dennis down for the dirt nap,
the world just got a little less interesting, a little bit grayer, a little bit poorer.

Well, given two relatively ambiguous photos and only one name, its rather hard to disercn who died, if anyone did. There's a lot of Dennis' in the world, and on a noise board, I'd just as well assume this was some experimental film.

I'm assuming this is the same guy who'd being talked about in the news recently, since that still looks like it was taken from Apocalypse Now and one news report mentioned the film.

What, like I haven't see that sort of shit on here? Its at least a possibility.

Oh yeah, and apparently Gary Coleman died. I'm pretty sure this guy isn't, unless your old-fashioned lingo somehow equates Gary to David. Man, fuck you guys.

Guys you gotta keep in mind that FAP is a youngin' compared to the rest of us who have been around longer. Yeah also the topic title is pretty damn vague; first thing I thought of when I read it was "who's dennis?" Also, I've not seen Apocalypse Now or Blue Velvet (but the latter is next on the netflix que) so there.

@FAP, mayhaps you've seen the movie Speed with Keanu Reeves + Sandra Bullock? If so he was the villian in that.

No? How about Kevin Costner's Waterworld? Mr. Hopper once again played the bad guy.

But if you don't catch him as a bitter ex-cop or evil sea pirate then surely you must've seen him as King Koopa in the awesome flick, Super Mario Bros.

Fap, it's Dennis Hopper, a great American actor, and wildman.

This is a guy who was in Rebel Without a Cause, Easy Rider, Blue Velvet, Apocolypse Now, and on and on it goes.

Think about how each of these films have either changed, created, or added to modern film, and you will see why this man has such an impact.

And that he did it his way, and on his terms, and so damn well, well, that's why so many here actually care.

It's just sad that you have no idea who he is, but if you watch some of his films, you will really grow to appreciate him too. And it's sad because Americans eat and shit out their history, someone like Dennis Hopper and his impact should be taught in schools.

Considering how manipulated we are by media, I wish that schools would teach reading a film, and analysing it, just as they should teach reading literature. But hey, I'm a dreamer!

Thank you. Christ...

You can call bullshit on this next part as much as you want, but I rarely see movies. The last time I went to a theater was probably back in mid to late 2009, and the last DVD I watched was probably even further back than that. I had a big horror interest a year or two ago, but since then I have'nt bought a tape or DVD in some time.

As for Speed, Waterworld and SMB, I have heard of the first and the epic failure of the last wo, but I've never actually watched them. In addition to hardly watching any movies, I never see "popular" ones; hell, I only breifly remember seeing the original Star Wars as a kid before I fell asleep, and I enver touched Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi. Never seen any of the INdiana Jones movies either, though to show I'm just not hating on good 'ol Lucas (whom I could care less for) I also haven't seen a majority of the "good" James Bond films, none of the Back to the Futures, None of the Godfather movies... They all SOUND good, I just don't have the time or interest!

However, I was a huge fan of Apocalypse Now and guess I still am. I recognized the still somewhat, but I haven't seen the movie in years. Also, I rarely am able to tie faces in movie with celebrity names. This is the same in real life; often when I run into people who recognize me, I have to ask who they are and what connection they have with me. Its part of who I am, though with movie and music I just find the whole name-dropping thing silly (unless its something I actually give a damn about like Clint Eastwood or, in guilty pleasure, Mike Patton).

So I guess thats the end of my rant for now.

And of course I have no idea what the fuck MKULTRA is saying. Oh well: time for a non-sequitur!
