Heh.. we ate at this place in Berlin that was what I always imagined europeans think of american food. It was a burger place with a variety of somewhat random american and celebrity names for the burgers. I think I had a duck burger.. I guess after Donald Duck.. all the food was pretty bad.. the setting reminded me of a Werner Herzog film.. would have been nice if there was a dancing chicken to entertain us as we ate the terrible cheeseburgers.

Here in Ireland, we have Eddie Rocket's and Rockin' Joe's. They both remind me of the diner scene in Ghost World.

Also for what it's worth most of the restaurants that were open when we were in Berlin and Stuttgart were Italian .. if there was "german food" available I don't where it was being served.

True.. although the only thing in between Berlin and Stuttgart was Weimar and Buchenwald which also were very touristy. Basically as far as I can tell most of Germany is a tourist trap.

I had an odd encounter with this random guy at the PO this morning. If you have a package notice you can pick it up before the PO is officially open by ringing a buzzer at the side of it. Anyway I think I've seen this at other PO so it's not like a rare courtesy.. anyway this guy walks in and makes a dumb comment like .. imagine that you can ring a bell and the PO opens.. then he says whaddya do if you need to buy a stamp to which I respond wait until it opens??

Anyway I got my package and went out to my jeep and made the mistake of opening my package instead of immediately leaving and of course mr friendly as it turns out was parked next to me and strikes up a conversation about some car accident he'd seen nearby that also happened to involve a jeep. He even had snapshots which he showed me but they were at night and not very interesting.. anyway eventually he gets around to asking me if I knew so and so and shows me a picture of this guy and start babbling about him being sued by somebody and he was anesthesiologist who had given some women a painkiller shot that went wrong and he owned the car repair shop this guy had worked at but he'd taken off to go surfing in mexico and now he was trying to find his house which was somewhere nearby. I told him good luck and got the fuck in my car but not before he noticed my license plate and yelled out NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed and then peeled out into traffic and didn't look back.

say a man steal a bottle of whiskey for the first time ever. Walked down the alcohol isle and saw him slip a full bottle of whiskey into the front of his pants and held it there with his belt. He was very skinny too. Very smooth. Impressed me even. He did it in a grocery store with cameras too, 0 fucks were given.

I worked in a convenience store.. on football days we had numerous people in the store to catch shoplifters.. we once caught some dumbass that tried to stuff a can of Pringles down the front of his shorts

He was probably drunk..

a friend of mine said that he was browsing the beer selection at a grocery store and noticed that somebody had ditched some items that they presumably decided they didn't have money for but not before eating some of the raw meat that they didn't have the nerve to shoplift. I guess the leftover meat had bite marks on it.
