One of my favorite topics of conversation: suicide)!!

Post by DonaldKrump » Fri Jun 29, 2018 6:03 pm

- discussion only
- no trying to save, just discuss, I like open conversation about terribly things I can't talk with... I can't talk
- everyone knows of services

So, the miscellaneous (hard to spell correct of first try) question/topic is: is it reasonable and sound (net happiness as primary factor) to remove oneself from the life of others when it's very clear others might be close or already depressed with a ton of issues and you don't help them. Let's say with almost everyone you know, with no exaggeration, you either appear to bring them down or sometimes might even make them as depressed as you. Regardless of what bias and heavily negative filtered lenses there may be, the fact is suicide may cause negative effects but as things go, based on trajectories of depression and the past, decades of depression and negativity lie ahead. Is that not a very valid reason, to perhaps stop depressing others and allow them to not be dragged down by you as they are obligated? SUMMARY: A known asshole with a few connections, all corrupted by said asshole, just skip to the part where they are free of the asshole and its difficulties?

What's the most considerate for of suicide for the coroner's and family cleanup? Slit artery in shower? gunshot to upper chest point blank? Should it be filmed/broadcast to prove intentions?

Again, purely for discussing and hypothetical fun!

if you are making others suffer it is for a reason, they are here to experience your energy

if you are the one suffering then it is for a reason

suicide is an attempt to cheat the pain

suicide is violence, so if you tell yourself its for the better then you are lying to your self

i dont think the coroner or whoever really cares what the method is, its an emotional assualt

as such, self immolation is the most violent way imo

I think there are cases where its not a selfish act, though your scenario seems so. If the person makes those around them feel bad they could either try to become better, or go away to some place else. The two methods you mention require someone to clear up the mess. But worse the suicide would probably be found by someone they know, and that effect could be very traumatic, even if they used the less messy route of taking drugs.

There are other cultures and situations where suicide is not what has been called cowardly, but i prefer selfish, but your scenario strikes me as one where the person is not thinking of others.

If you are interested in suicide more generally, from the sublime to the ridiculous, (it was once a capital offence, failed suicides were hanged! A guy used a power drill to the head - drilled THREE times...) check out The Savage God by Alvarez...

If the main goal is to remove oneself from the life of others, suicide seems like an overkill. There are less asshole ways.

I applaud every story I hear of an elderly couple who went the distance.
I support medical assisted suicide.

In our present dystopian slavestate, our right to have guns, for many people is their
catastrophic health care insurance.

WOW!
little lost girl in the woods
"The act of taking my own life is not something I am doing without a lot of thought.

I don't believe that people should take their own lives without deep and thoughtful reflection over a considerable period of time.

I do believe strongly, however, that the right to do so is one of the most fundamental rights that anyone in a free society should have.

For me much of the world makes no sense, but my feelings about what I am doing ring loud and clear to an inner ear and a place where there is no self, only calm .

Love always, Wendy."

Wendy O. Williams' suicide note

first attempted suicide in 1993 by hammering a knife into her chest where it lodged in her sternum

perspectives can change
death is a part of life and vice versa
not like that is anything new
sometimes you end up with extreme enemies in life
Eye refuse ever give them such satisfaction
been exposed for many that had tried & died
don't even really want thinking about the long list
prefer live and learn
have some willpower plus healthy survival skills
keep in mind that we all have our own "suffering"
either you transcend or it can be fatal negativity
also try to not just end up becoming a "Hungry Ghost"

Artwork Takato Yamamoto^

slapped that rough mix track together today
needs way more work
maybe some electroharmonix minisynth
plus some "Climax"

I don't think Philip Seymour Hoffman's overdose was any accident.
