Because sometimes "obsession" is too strong
I guess you haven't read the Noise Dictionary entry for Obsession then.

Sure I have. But I'm not about to start making HNW themed around microwaved red potatoes, y'know? :chin:

Current fleeting interest: Mississippi HC/Punk bands. Bandcamp sure is a thing... All the groups I've found on there sound like generically angsty Youth Attack/SQRMcore/"too-much-echo-on-the-vocals-because-we're-so-underground-we're-literally-in-a-cave!" stuff, except not bad for being so derivative. Maybe it's just being from Mississippi and wanting to believe there's something going on there coloring my perception, but it's sort of exciting to find some of these bands... Naturally, none of them are from the bumfuck part of MS I come from.

Part of me wants to contact them, and get to know them. Maybe use our acquaintanceship as an excuse to move back to MS. For some reason, I have had a social/cultural deathwish to move back to my home state for about 3 years now... BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR CURRENT OBSESSIONS! I feel like I have run out of options and should just go back where I came from. Resign myself to a simpler, quieter life of settled mediocrity someplace familiar. Someplace where I can potentially even afford to own or rent property (MS is a very cheap place to live) without a lot of skilled labor experience. I've got this whole complex fantasy narrative where I find my soulmate and we move back into my childhood home and work as custodians at the local K-12 (DREAM BIG!!! REACH FOR THE STARS!!!). Realistically, I'd like a cemetery maintenance/landscaping job even better. Seems like very peaceful work. Especially in a middle-of-nowhere place like Caledonia.

The above caused a 10 sec obsession with gravedigger GIS

-Pity Puppy and Pity Kitty prints. What is "kitsch"? Beats me! I think they're genuinely phenomenal. My sister used to have one:

From a thrift store, no less. Wish I knew what became of it. Gotta catch 'em all!

-Color-based HNW releases. Guhhhh! I never have stuff like blank pink cassettes handy when I need 'em!

Jesus Christ, man! I just woke up about an hour ago. And I was thinking how cool it is that I've only been able to sleep about four hours a night for the past couple of weeks. Now I'm only going to be sleeping two hours a night.

Nightmares for days.

Maybe. I'd sleep more soundly if I cut back on my caffeine intake. But it's not like I always consume so much. Only recently, which would explain the recent case of crazy insomnia.

Honestly, apart from feeling slightly lobotomized, I feel pretty good.

I've been binge watching Breaking Bad again along with watching the new episodes of Better Call Saul.. I've been having alot of manic dreams lately.. can't really remember what is happening in them but it's been kinda stressful and I wake up in a slight panic but at least I haven't been having insomnia.. I just wakeup when I normally would but startled.
