This storm-damaged tree with the broken branch hanging from it has been visible from my backyard for years. I always meant to take a picture of it in all that time. I finally did yesterday morning. I actually went out to photograph something else. The photos I took of the tree were an afterthought.

Last night, a storm finally knocked that hanging branch down after all these years. None of this is particularly interesting, I know.

I also like drinking Community coffee a lot lately. Tastes like charcoal, as I like it. :coffee:

Reading about old PC games like Wasteland, It Came From the Desert and stuff. This blog is good: http://www.filfre.net/
investing too much time in random useless pursuits as usual.

^ I probably haven't heard of them.

Current obsession: Complete single/EP and demo compilation CD's. So many artists have them. Even relatively "underground" bands! Why have I not noticed until now? What's not to love about having all your favorite obscure Japanese HC collector scum pet bands' out of print and overpriced EP's on ONE CONVENIENT COMPACT DISC for ONE LOW, LOW PRICE?!

It's like I'm finally witnessing the future 15 years too late, and I love it. The list of compilations I've been adding to my wantlist is getting out of hand.

I mostly just browse different bands/artists on Discogs to see what's available:

Truth be told, a lot of the obscure Japanese HC stuff compiled for CD is only sold in Japan, not distributed wholesale outside of the country. Having Japanese items imported is already expensive, so a lot of these discography and singles comps are steeply priced from the outset. But, considering what you might pay for the individual records (usually in less than ideal condition), and what you can expect to pay for a Japanese import of any kind. Prices can get out of hand very fast when buying from greedy scumbags, of course.

The other obvious caveat to buying obskvre kvlt underground band comps is avoiding garbage bootlegs that are literally just poor quality vinyl transfers put to compact disc. There are so many shit bootlegs like that in the world, it's not even funny. Even for mainstream artists.
