That's amusing. I wasn't into Hardcore/Punk until 92/94. If I had known better, I could have got into that first instead of fucking glam rock.

:eew:

But when I think of that classic early 80s hardcore era, I don't even think about music. I think about The Get Along Gang & Fraggle Rock.

The Dicks "Kills From The Heart"

A couple of my current old school faves at the moment.

We were just reminiscing about the smell of clove cigarettes.

I use to listen to punk and hang out on the "scene" in Indianapolis. That clove cigarette thing is definitely true (I don't think they're allowed to sell them in this state anymore). Also, lots of brawling and people getting beat up. I saw shitloads of old bands from the eighties--Descendants, DOA, Murder Junkies, Misfits twice, Ramones, Murphy's Law, Sloppy Seconds about five times, The Undead, The Meatmen, etc. But, I'm pushing 38 years old, and some of the stuff sounds, er, a little "redundant" to my ears now.

But, I listen to everything.

Meatglue, Killer, thanks for the info!

It's not redundant to me now, I'm 25 been listening since I was 11. I thought it was redundant for about 11 months of my life, but I never deleted my music files or sold (all) my records. Some gems were too good to sell. Like the Suicidal Tendencies demo LP or the Iron Cross discography. I'm glad I hung on to them and others because Ive been listening more and more each day. After noise I can listen to it all with a fresh perspective.

80's bands Ive seen live, that I can remember or worth mentioning:
Attitude Adjustment, The Accused, Battalion Of Saints, Sick Pleasure, The Fuck Ups, Verbal Abuse, Code Of Honor. Being born in 89 kinda put me out of the time-frame for this music but It will always remain an important part of my life.

I refuse to see Poison Idea without Pig Champion on guitar, once the most important member of your band dies its time to throw in the towel.
