I started this punk band once, a while back. We called ourself "Anarky Shepherd" cause we believed in no rules man, not even in spelling. We were baadaas!! we had a song about the Betty Crocker Gestapo, and our band logo was the Anarky Sheep.

I was the only one in the band, and it eventually broke up over artistic differences.

All I know is that we'd have a lot fewer problems in this country if we stopped letting fat people vote!

Well, IDK that it'd make a difference since I always opt out of voting every election anyway.

any anarchists here??

i like how i listen to the noise of people when they post up their noise and it is free and it is like there is nothing between us except love <3 <3 <3 AND HATE :D
Well, while I am not by any means in favour of full anarchy, I am quite reasonably disturbed by the many and increasing signs of the police/nanny state we seem have here in the Land of Cowards, Home of the Enslaved.

It seems to me that much (perhaps most) of our legislation anymore is profit driven. As is our "Journalism".
I'm rapidly losing faith in the whole capitalist system; it has given us a lot of nice things, but it seems as though the system has run out of control, and is devouring humanity (and the planet we live on) in favour of the meaningless production of unecessary products. Products which become cheaper and more disposable every day.

Corporations have rights, and people are losing theirs. The military industrial complex, the profit-driven prison industry, and the "intellectual property" kingpins are enslaving us all with their pointless greed.

Also, the idea of self-driving cars scares/bothers the hell out of me.
I mean sure, robots are cool and all but you don't want to drive? fine, ride the bus, damn it! I'd prefer to stay in control of my own damn vehicle!

Een Amerika, product consume you!

On a related tangent, I think our collective materialism has enfeebled us all. We've been rendered totally effete and worthlessly incapable without the guiding hand of big daddy gov't. The population keeps the corporate and political oligarchs afloat and they throw us scraps and bullshit like "The American Dream" while dangling the new iphone on a string in front of us to keep us all distracted. Even those of us that don't give a flying fuck about fashions, trends, every new version of some consumer electronics crap, whatever... We're still trading materialism and creature comforts for "true" liberty (I don't mean liberty to rape and pillage, just to exist freely. To live or die completely on our own terms, without the debilitating mental diseases and co-dependencies that an authoritarian state fosters).

I guess a lack of certain liberties is just the trade-off we make for the gilded cage of luxury, obliviousness to inequity and a strong military/police force to keep us safe from the scary, scary world around us. All so that we can continue nurturing our collective, grossly sentimental, brainwashed materialism and "need" for worthless possessions that keep us mired and cooperative out of sheer fear of losing our "stuff", "privileges", "conveniences", etc. (some of which have greatly, greatly improved quality of life, but the best/most essential of which are held at arm's length, solely for the benefit of profiteering scum).

I think there's probably an ideal middle-ground somewhere, but it's a shame that there's probably always going to be much compromise involved in being fat (pre-diabetic) and happy (endlessly medicated).

I agree.
I'm pretty materialistic myself.
I love cars, I love driving. I even feel that certain shitty cars (like the Yugo) have a certain charm. (and usefulness)
But the idea that we, as a race, dug up huge areas of land, polluted the earth, air, water; spent millions of man hours of labor, sweat, stress, etc. ; all this energy and material resources, to make shit like Ford Tempos, this is appaling to me.
And compound that exponentially with the further insult of planned obsolescence.. Cars today are so needlessly complicated, poorly designed, cheaply made that they are too much trouble to fix when they inevitably break.

And of course this concept which has been drilled into our collective conscious by marketing departments, that old means "bad", new means "good"...

And meanwhile we millions of poor souls working their asses off in factories and prison farms to produce mountains of cheap products, and cheap food; more than all the Walmarts of the world can ever sell us, only to be dumped in landfills by the ton.

This idea that "everyone should work for a living" sounds totally reasonable, until you realise just how much of the fruit of our labors goes totally wasted. And all that wasted product costs money to produce, which only serves to pointlessly inflate prices of the remaining products that we actually DO use. When I worked at a Don Pablos restaurant, we would prep all this food, and then at the end of the night, throw away whole giant garbage barrels FULL of refried beans, rice, and other food. I asked why we could not give it to a homeless shelter or something, and was told that we couldn't because the health inspectors etc wouldn't allow it.
Disgusting.

What more is there to say that hasn't been said already? Well, an answer might be nice. Sorry I haven't got one.

Sometimes the important stuff bears repeating. And perhaps if we discuss the matter long enough there will come some epiphany, which solves all the world's problems.

but that epiphany will come from clemon, so we will just ignore it.
