I don't even care.

If you rule out movies "cashing in" whatever, you must rule basically all the awesome exploitation and italian crazy movies of the 60s/70s/80s.

Cash me in good.

after reading a few reviews, i stand by the rehash comment

i dont go to the cinema so will have to wait to confirm, but seriously, no one claims this is different from the original in any meaningful way

more merch for new kids i guess

rather see a new riddick movie

The re-hash thing is only partially correct by definition.

Without significant improvement is the key phrase. Without it it would be true. There would be no argument. If you think this new film offers nothing by means of improvement over the old films, I completely agree as Mad Max & The Road Warrior are still more intense viewing experiences even without the flashy props and effects. That being said. Fuck the reviews. It's a drastic improvement over the old in some very specific aspects.

These reviews fail to mention the ideological undertones (sexism, racism) of the film which could be perceived as far more offensive than the surface level ideologies (feminism) presented in the film, which is dominating the discussion in said reviews.

it was good enough, weak story though, lots of cool cars and decent costumes, overall very derivative, no meaningful improvement and definitely not as good as the first.

the split hero thing, male/female, just dont work with the dystopian atmosphere(personal struggle), the focus is lost, it becomes hard to identify with either character, and to make things worse, the bad guy is flat and uninteresting and mostly absent.

Vanessa and I saw this in the theater twice! Awesome. We go see movies maybe a couple times a year. And never the same movie twice. It was really damn good.
