I'd laugh, but I fear they believe their own bs. :eew:
I think trying to quantify music is one of the biggest wastes of time in the world, like discussing your favourite colour or deity or pizza topping. People should realise that and get on with their life.

Holy MISC section, Batman! We need a forum fitment for ball-gags.

(erhmagerd, hee's cawling for censorship - destroy him with an avalanche of perpetual misguidance!)

Apologies, y'all, by not quietly taking it I have probably made the problem worse.

Just to recap though, there is an entire sub-section for bullshit. Most relevant arguments against the subject of topic have been presented, and regurgitating them AT one another is going to look like free advertising to the bots, or magic eyes, or whatever malarky you want to call it.

you better buy some cheap Behringer communist chinese"junk" from Walmart
(started out as a joke yet realized SOB they sell Behringer at Walmart)
before the 25% Tarrifs kick in
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Behringer-XE ... X/10333984
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Behringer-HP ... s/17656023
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Behringer-UM ... /194106643
https://www.walmart.com/ip/BEHRINGER-Ul ... m/15048433
already personally boycott both market invasive/intrusive/parasitic companies anyway
dude you are buying Walmart quality gear
figure it out or don't if you can't
Buy from people actually care about what they are creating/manufacturing
real people & smaller companies when possible anymore
that have some pride in their work quality ethics
even if it costs more usually
they need the business
also Quality used gear when possible from other people
or
if you can
DIY(so you have personal rapport/vibe with your circuits/gear)

the earth doesn't need to be covered with shit disposable gear that meets Q.C. quality requirements for landfills

So how many of your posts are just you trying to excuse your own expensive gear habit?

Noise conformity, it really is 2018, in Trump's Britain.

used this series/model Realistic mixer for years
Image
when are going to realize it's not really simple as some MSM "left/right paradigm" programming
you are obviously suffering from "Trump Derangement"
We used whatever we could get our hands on
people would give you their old gear when they gave up or got better
(If they realized you have willpower & creative/potential)
We didn't have Behringer...
we were lucky if we got Realistic/Teac
my first "Broadcast" gear came from the old producer of "Mike Ditka Show" on WGN
along with an old Dokorder reel to reel 4 track & Teac mixer(that got stolen)
considered myself extremely fortunate...
he had died... his wife(co producer) gave it to me along with his Ensoniq EPS also some rack gear
for helping clean up her house(days maybe a week)
Her punk rock daughter was my then GF's best friend
(had already been playing in bands for years by then)
getting your gear together can be long ass brutal process
if you are just starting out it can be nightmare painful quest
especially if you have no real extra money for spending on gear beyond monthly rent/bills/food
IMO you are a behaving like a fucking little spoiled bitchy dumb ass douche noob
yet that's my perspective
Don't expect respect.
Are you that clueless?
It's no wonder Clint Eastwood calls your generation "The Pussy Generation"
Image
Image
you obviously really do "hate" learning

really can only guess wtf your problem is
yet don't really a flying rats ass about your dysfunctions
enjoy your cheap ass Behringer "chinese junk"
(maybe it's a some new trendy cool communist leftist wanna be radical thing)

that old song reminds me of you...
btw what's up with map of northloop/lake street on your bandcamp
Image
that's where "The Butcher Shop" used to be for noise shows
did sound(&security) for raves/shows/parties/afterhours on Lake Street
(various locations in the area of your bandcamp header map)
that's so ironic...
you ever been there???

filmed on Lake street between the Chicago river and Lake/Damen(CHA projects used to be on that corner)

Can we talk about gear without politicizing it?

It is possible, you know.

These are fucking tools. You either buy tools that break and are difficult to fix, buy tools that break and are easy to repair, buy tools that do not break (hahaha, good luck with that one), build your own tools, or live without tools.

If this was Maniacs I'd punctuate this with a lock & drop, but hey, I guess that site is not popular for a reason. :P

this thread reminds me that Eye found a Zenyx502 in a dumpster behind a bar few years ago
no proprietary Power Supply included
which costs half of the actual mixer used
maybe some dumb ass will buy it on ebay as is for parts/not working $30
that is some more 3.5mm patch cables

I found Evil Moisture's approach to bad/broken mixers inspirational; reuse the pots, jacks and other parts not by desoldering but by simply sawing up the whole board into suitably sized chunks

Mmmmm, now we're talking. Just chop up the entire mixer, with a bandsaw - contact mic'd.
