New gear?

Post by Mkrrons Kntomt » Mon May 08, 2017 12:50 am

Hi guys!

I'm new in making noise music and the only gear I have is a volca keys and pedal effects. I want to buy new gear like a new synth, or maybe a drum machine but I don't know wich one. I want to make noise like pharmakon, puce mary, prurient and others.

This is my bandcamp so you can check out what I can do with my poor gear https://mkrronskntomt.bandcamp.com/album/xvii

I need your help to buy new gear!

(sorry for my english, I'm from spain)

Korg MS-20 is a popular synth for noise/PE, but go with what sounds good to YOU.

Lots of people seem to love the Microbrute, but personally I think you can get more out a Mopho or a Novation Bass Station 2.

More and more the aspect of experimentation seems to be gone in noise. Damn heavy metal kids and PE pricks.

Thanks for answer but man, look the link in the post and check MY noise. I don't wanna sound like pharmakon or puce mary, they are only influence.

I love the sound of ms20 but it's too expensive for me.

wouldnt you be the best judge of this? how the fuck do we know what style you want? if you just want to do tired noise covers then you are set, rock on

if you want to do something that reflects your personal talents, then you need to figure that out bro

go to youtube and watch some gear reviews if youre too ignorant to figure out what you want, then you know personally how you feel about shit

coming on here asking about how to be noise mainstream is just fucking lame

It's our job to keep noise elite.

Basically any synth will work for your style, sorry but you will get stupid comments for asking questions like this.. it's unavoidable. So you really should ignore those comments if you don't wish to spawn more of the same.

If you want a patchable analog keyboard it won't be cheap and you'll have to give up polyphony... ie ms20 or microbrute is probably going to be your best bet

If you want polyphony and some good sounds but your budget is limited to a couple hundred US dollars your best bet is going to be old and used digital keyboards. You might try browsing http://www.vintagesynth.com/
