The Sound Of Meat

Post by noisefreaknoise » Wed Jan 03, 2007 2:02 pm

Hello Yet Again People

Now, i shall be buying a meat box soon, cant wait! but one thing, does it actually EFFECT the signal, or does it just add sub harmonic and the signal just sounds like it did in the first place, just with a shit load more bass?

why do you have too much money? Why get something like this; if you don't know that you even want it?

I have one; I like it. It didn't change my world or anything. But it is a unique pedal. I would recommened trying one out first.[/b]

I just like making my signal more "full".

I like some meatbox-ness... my only gripe with that pedal is if you use it, you really notice it. recordings I've used a meatbox on make me feel weird... the a-side of the monorail trespassing tape has heavy meatbox on it, and that weird farty bass sound is all over that... then when I turn it off you notice it's absence... I like that pedal, but don't own one and would prefer to not really use it... just give me some heavy low-end distortions and I'll make up for any lack of meatbox... yeah.

but if you WANT it you should GET IT. you know?

ive always wanted one, because i know i can find some use for it
i have go objections to what it does, i just wanted to know if it actually effected the signal itself in the way of changing the way it sounds

has any one tried it self osc?

I'd recommend a good bass EQ and bass overdrive.

fuck all that. get the danelectro chili dog. 20 bucks for 2 octaves down oscillating madness. it's a mini, but it hasn't left my chain, not for a second. insane with everything, put a distortion after it, it will shread your intestines.

well I currently drag around this 1 unit rackmount unit from aphex and it seems like this pedal might give me the same effect and be smaller if only mono.

Might check out the Chilidog.. what is it with those names ;-)

YEAAAH! exactly. my Arion MOC-1 (before it broke) worked just as well as a meatbox depending on what EQ and distortion I put after it. and the chili dog RULES.... pretty sure the mighty RITA used to have one, or still does...
