Hey, any opinion on the Casio CZ series? There is some affordable around here.

Depends what you're looking for. I used to have a CZ-1000 and I wish I never sold it. 8-stage envelopes for pitch, timbre and amp. Very unique. And much easier to program than the DX-7, imho..

I have a freesound.org page that I occasionally update with various sound effects, field recordings, loops, etc. all of which I made and/or recorded. I also put up some found tapes if you're into that kind of thing:

Elias: Get the CZ! I've never even been in the same room with a CZ series synth before, but I know enough about them that I wouldn't pass one up if I had the money.

Thanks for the link. I may post a mediafire link to my own collection of lo-fi toy samples sometime. Some of them are probably poorly cropped, or clipped or brickwalled or just dirty/noisy, because I had no idea what I was doing back when I sampled most of them approximately a decade ago. Still usable. I've gotten a lot of FLStudio hack-producer mileage out of them over the years.
