Actually I sorta figured you would just say "no" to which I planned on putting it on my website anyway, just to show what a hardcore pirate badass I am. But I'm really lazy, and the amiguosity of your answer has sucked all the motivation out of me, at least for now.

I mean I doubt you really care much, but that was my plan.

I do have a decent solder station with temp control, actually I have 2, and these days I use neither of them; last year when I went a couple months without electricity in my house, I discovered the joy of the butane-powered soldering iron: way hotter, quicker melt, so I don't have to set it on things nearly as long, waiting for the solder to run. At least this works well for me, anyway. I like it hot!
Post some close up shots of your completed solder joints.
If you are worrying about what you are doing you do not know what you are doing.
Once you learn how to solder PROPERLY you will not worry about your solder fu.

FYI solder does not run it flows.

Way hotter is not always better.

Use the proper iron and tip, set at the right temperature for the job. If you melted something you may benefit from a rethink of your technique, iron selection and temperature setting.
