I somehow found someone who already traced out the buzzbox. All i need to do is use my software to redo the traces so it only shows the copper side and I'll etch one in the future. Got a few more synth modules to make in order to be happy enough to stop and do that project.

pretty pictures...

Whew, and thank god for browser histories...

The damn firefox auto-updates that have been doing nothing but crashing my browser caused me to lose the ebay auction page with the mega bass IC needed for the Meatbox.

I'd snap one up in a second if I had a PCB, for sure, but I wouldn't want to buy one and then be stuck with it since I wouldn't know another way to use it...

I am interested in what other subharmonic frequency/octave generators are out there, too.

so theres one chip thats though to find for the meatbox and its a m51134p from mitsubishi. it seems lots of chinese companies have this part while mouser, digikey etc dont. on the chip at the top it says 441000, which seems like a sampling freq but i cant find anything in the data sheet about it

Yup, that's the same link I got from Moribund.

I figure, as long as I can still manage to get them overseas, it's nothing to worry about...but with my luck, they will be unavailable by the time I could actually use one.

Ah, see, I was thinking they were no longer produced, not just unavailable through the normal suppliers.

If I were more knowledgeable of how to actually use them in designs of my own, I'd surely get some, but I'm not...

They do look pretty sweet, though...

im putting out some quotes but not having lots of luck. One company said 100 at 1.40, which is pretty much the cost of a meatbox. Still waiting for replies.
