I got two of them, started figuring out a breadboard layout but then got sidetracked.

Eagle is free on ubuntu. Dont ask me why, I thought it was a demo version, but I got it through the ubuntu store. Its a good thing to learn how to use if you hate perfboard.

Also I bought some PCBs from this website recently:

Unfortunately the minimum quantity is 10 but for $22 + ship it's a good deal. Just make sure your circuit works first on bread and sell/ give away the extras.
nothing here!

Yeah I got some ages ago, lost them, got more and then found the others. I think I have 2 of each kind now :D

Seriously do need to try building this circuit in the coming months. Got back into building more stuff again lately :)

https://archive.org/details/CineMagic014 pdf of cinemagic Magazine issue 14 containing instructions and layout for building an SN76477 sound fx box (more or less the datasheet test circuit I think)!

4 years on, it's cheaper, cool
I think trying to quantify music is one of the biggest wastes of time in the world, like discussing your favourite colour or deity or pizza topping. People should realise that and get on with their life.
