you can use a turntable as a control device for software. software can pitch shift and autotune in real time. hence therefor you can scratch a feedback loop in real time. it would take $4000 in gear to do it but hey there it is. just think of it like doing a feedback loop with a desktop computer but with scratching and unlimited software fuck shit up power.

The latter, because it's being used in Reaktor has shittons of potential for noise/experimentation.

Just depends how willing you are to work digitally.

Using the Mrs Pinky vinyl and add-on for max/msp is exactly what i had in mind. There are realtime pitch shifting and time stretching libraries for max also. Thanks for posting. I hope mk ultra understands whats goin on here.

I first heard Christian Markclay as part of the downtown scene. John Zorn was performing "Pool"which was free improv with time and dynamics restrictions.

It was funny, moving, enjoyable.

And Christian Marklay stole the show, much to the chagrin of Zorn's duck calls.

This remind me, I need to get a new record player, one for both listening and for performing.

Shitty turntable

+

cardboard cutout of vinyl record w/ hand-cut "grooves"

+

tape recorder (optional)

=

bulky, potentially cheap replacement for DOD Death Metal noise loops

Also, FAP, today I spent one whole dollar on two tapes and picked up 3 free ones. One of them was Death Angel's "The Ultra-Violence". U JELLO?

Never heard anything by Christian Marclay before... That Hendrix interpretation part was super rad.
