good long track
that's almost complete release or side of 60minute tape
liked the subtle transition into outro most

stripped out droney guitar parts then remixed everything...
added another ms20 pass through Marshall head
with gain cranked
for flyoff mix
has some potential
ran whole mix through se50 cathedral verb
inserted into Yamaha SPX Reverb & Gate algo
http://www.n01ze.com/Muzak/Trax/CucarachaCaravan.mp3
super basic noise backing track for now

you're using an SPX90, right?
I have a chance to grab one real cheap, but not quite sure if I should
folks at gerslutz seem to hate it

thanks for listening & commenting on my track, didn't expect anyone to get to the outro :)

people at Gearsluts can hate the SPX90 all they want
seems like 98% of all humans are fucking idiots
they were Industry standard for studios in the 80s/90s
my first real hands on experience with SPX was checking them out from "Art Institue"
from hot girl who worked at the gear rental cage
(now that one is long twisted erotic story for memiors and she was completely a real life GearSlut)
if you find them cheap then grab it even if power goes out on theme DOA
(common problem with power bus header jack that needs getting re-soldered after years of use)
you have heard that exact VerbFX all over so many movies&records for years
It is what its is and it does what it does and it's not an Eventide yet fortunately it's not an Alesis either
(knew/toured with/lived with some noise girl that used overloaded NanoVerb as her secret weapon)
use whatever works for you
BTW the old Yamaha Digital Distortion is a notoriously hideous disgusting creature
yet it can have it's uses... just not for guitar... IMO
also have my old Yamaha FX500 half rack that got in super early 90s
it's been extremely used and abused
now living in the stack of half racks anymore within arms reach
~shrug~
prefer using actual Hardware whenever possible
even though obviously eye can design my own VST
you can hear/feel the electricity in real gear

Do you want starting up the "Obscura" Tape subsidiary?
Eye still need going to Lumber yard
so can build standing rack for cassette duplicators
over the big commercial laser printer here
(yeah been slacking focusing on other projects)
can get you in thee ancient netwerk if so inclined
sounds like you are swimming in gear  , should definitely put some to use

i will do what i can to help but i was just going to use my old pioneer open reel to master and then duplicate on an old yamaha cassette deck :D

if you have the technical and networking covered we just need artists to exploit

who else is interested?

something like this?: https://www.discogs.com/Various-In-Form ... ase/828360
insane girl with overloaded nanoverb is on that comp
would way prefer industrial/noise
TG/SPK old industrial influenced(have that style project on the agenda for winter)
been actually talking with someone recently regrading re-animating our old Netwerk/Waxtrax era band...
yet it's obscenely heavily old SP influenced and always has been
already have like 20+ new trax or something composed for that
yet it also sort of toys with EBM/Aggro influences at times now
way too "marketable" for HNW internet scene :P
~shrug~
see who is game
anyways
sort of in the middle of other projects right now that need getting evolved/completed
hmmm
let me think more about you previous posts

think about grabbing something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/GEM-Turbo-Trax ... rk:43:pf:0
keep your eyes open for them on ebay
starting with Mono unit is acceptable
focus on strange custom art/packaging
since it is just primarily HarshNoise
most of the target listeners will never notice
that will get you started on tape label
that unit makes 3 copies in 60 seconds or less

I'm SOOOO in! Badly needed something like that to drag my stuff to a rehearsal place and record amps, percussion & vox for real.

maybe, they are in storage, one is in bad shape, needs belts, would rather spend ten days doing 50 cassettes the hard way

how about you melko? how pro do we go?

I think we need to get the record done first.
Then we'll know how many people are involved, who lives where, who can contribute what logistics-wise.
I'm not sure one person making 50 tapes is the optimal way to go. Or even that we'd actually need that many.
Maybe 5 people doing 10 copies each will make more sense.
Or, with enough participants, we could make a slush fund and order the tapes from, say, Tapeline. With added benefits of custom on-body printing etc.
Personally, I'd be more than ready to chip in.

get of assorted rubberbands from dollar store
do some experiments recording post replacing missing belts
usually they will be close enough
yet really if replace one missing/worn out belt in something like that
you should replace that belt with same size rubberband
in all 4 tape mechanisms

yeah, i have to fix my cassette decks everytime i use them, the new ones are from the 90s, started with like 20 i got for free from some dead hoarders kid, literally couldnt take more in my car, 2 open reels, walkmans, turntables, amps, eqs, this guys shit was piled high, stuffed to the ceiling and wall to wall, no access path even, i excavated what i could get to, crazy scene

but of course some of it was garbage, something like 10/12 of the eqs were bad and only a couple tape decks worked at first, ended up with seven good ones worth fixing

theres a slim chance i will check out the duplicator, but pretty busy right now :hic:
