Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

I reckon a distortion would just give you more squarewave, but I never tried a compressor in a feedback loop by itself. If I wasn't so lazy I'd give it a go. I love planting a 3630 in a feedback loop, you can do some damage with ratio, threshold, attack, release, and level... not to mention the duc...

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

is it really just creating basic opamp feedback loops as OSC w/FX units? Yup. From a purist standpoint we're just looking at the preamp block feeding the EQ stack and summing section on back to the input forming up a manual oscillator with poor steady state level control. Once FX are in play I tend...

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

I've never bothered trying this, but would a compressor turned up full-whack do the job you're after? If you're just amplifying the noise floor it might work? I'm curious for myself now. I was thinking adding fuzz or distortion might help. Never bothered to get a compressor. Maybe that's what I need.

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

I consider No Input Mixing to utilize nothing but patch cords. Each mixer will yield it's own sonic character, sounds and possibilities. Figure out what YOUR mixer can do because you may be surprised. As long as you don't have a laptop in your set-up you will be fine. (Because laptops don't belong ...

Use the Zoom's pitch shifter at -12 and fiddle with the lows on the 802.

If you decide to expand the setup, grab something that doesn't destroy low frequency content like your current pedals do.
Awesome! Will give it a try and let you know the results ;)

NIMB & Harsh Noise

Hi, I have been experimenting with a Behringer 802 along with a Zoom G1Next and a Behringer HM300. Usual patches I follow: Mixer Channel 1 L > Zoom G1Next O/P > Zoom G1Next I/P > Mixer FX Send Mixer Channel 2 L > Behringer HM300 O/P > Behringer HM300 I/P > Mixer Phone O/P Mixer Channel 3 L > Mixer C...
