Re: Noise in normal music

seriously tho where are any of u guys that every single hardcore "powerviolence" / doom / two-drummers rock band around DOESN'T have a token Noise Guy... or at least one of the guitarists has a go at it with his ridiculously over-expensive boutique pedals during one song? :D You forgot black metal,...

Re: Sea of Poppies - S/T - my first noise album

Hey, not bad! If I had to pick out a negative, the last track is a little echo-happy. I only listened to a few seconds of each, though, so I can't give an honest critique. Everyone does noise differently, some people get into a 'flow' that's better off not being broken for the sake of adding/subtra...

Sea of Poppies - S/T - my first noise album

This is my first stab at making noise after more than a decade of being a passive listener. Please be gentle. I have done this all-analogue on a fairly modest setup. The reasons were multiple - first, I wanted to try my hand on an "old school" release, because I love the 80s noise/industrial/e...

Re: Historical recollection of noise listening

I was a big extreme metal fan in puberty (13-15 or so), listened to a ton of brutal death, tech death, grind, goregrind, all that stuff. Then I found myself liking goth/post-punk way more, and since "goth" today means about 10 different genres I eventually landed on industrial/power electronics (the...

Re: Noise in normal music

I can only think of clipping. (the producers used to be power electronics artists) and B L A C K I E, both noise hip hop. I guess Tokyo Death Watch too. Everything else (aside from noise rock, obviously) that I can think of had noise just as an interlude or something like that. You can always go eit...

Does anyone notice any problems with the VD400? Does it cut out at the end of a pedal chain?
I never had a problem with it yet, but I only used it with two other pedals and with a 9v power supply. So, not sure if my post is at all helpful, but just in case... :)

Re: Another novice seeking advice (No input mixing)

Sorry for the late, late reply, I hope you don't think it rude of me. :) I am battling some really crappy health issues that are not getting any better, and it gets harder to go on the PC. Thanks for all the suggestions here. I decided that I'll probably go the easiest way, and get an external card ...

Re: Another novice seeking advice (No input mixing)

Hey guys, sorry I'm so late with replying, health problems aren't allowing me to be on the PC too much. All replies are very much appreciated! Sorry if this sounds like I'm assuming you're an idiot, but what's your mixer set up look like? Can you MSPaint it together for me? I really recommend gettin...

Re: Another novice seeking advice (No input mixing)

What mixer do you have? Behringer 802 Turn *everything* all the way down. Plug the output into an input with a cable. Slowly increase gains/levels/EQs until you have a sound. Explore. Yeah, I have that part down, I just have a problem actually recording the stuff I get out of it... :( I have one of...

Another novice seeking advice (No input mixing)

Hey there. I've been passivelly loving noise and experimental music for over 10 years now, and even tried to get into dark ambient territory a bit, and recently I've bought some effects and a mixer to try my hand on no input noise. However, I'm haing a really hard time recording it. What I've tried ...
