Re: Minnie – Demos

I liked Distant Faith and Vasterled. Reminded me of one of my earliest introductions to noise. I can't be of much help on the technical side of things, I'm afraid. How do you record normally? Explaining that would give us an idea of where to start. hi, thanks! So my setup is something like, I have ...

Minnie – Demos

Hi guys, just wanted to share what I have recorded so far. These are tracks I completed during 2017/2018. None are mastered. Feedback and production tips are greatly appreciated! Covers also made by me.

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

It converts (or adapts, if you prefer) AC to DC. The important aspect is polarity of DC on output of power supply, voltage of DC and sufficient current capability, all of which you are well within spec. The AC is there because generally speaking, the power supply needs AC on its input to work, simp...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

So i have a painfully novice question regarding the power supply, I got this daisy chain adapter from truetone and I was wondering if I can power the Boss PS-2 with it? Specs of my adapter: http://imageshack.com/a/img923/4416/X38V93.png http://imageshack.com/a/img924/4149/mLYfKD.png Specs of PS-2 po...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

If I was going to get either the 2 or 3, I'd probably get the 2 because the stepping on the 3 would piss me off too much. I have a Rainbow Machine which gives me all the PS series rising / falling sounds I could really want. I've always thought that having a pedal that does one thing really well is...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

Hey I know you recommended the whammy and its a bit over my budget so I was wondering if you think its a good choice to get the PS2? Its seems like the best option since I dont wanna get the us600 and other alternatives were pricey. Only other option I can think of is the newer versions that boss m...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

I'm designing an octave divider using discrete transistors, I wouldn't dream of trying the same with a pitch shifter. What do you think about getting the Boss PS-2? Is it worth it or should I try get the PS-3 first? It seems so rare to find. Also: I really dont know if the PS-5 or PS-6 could be an ...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

alright so based on everyones replies it seems like its definitely worth to invest in something a little bit more expensive than the us600. The Boss PS-2 and PS-3s are classics that seem great but I feel like its difficult to tell the difference between the pedals in the boss series. The PS-2 is com...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

PS - 2 purchased in 1988. PS - 3 purchased in 1995. Never an issue, problem or fault. Wow, thanks for the detailed reply. Great to hear your input. I searched and was able to find the PS-2 that I could buy and get delivered pretty quickly but no PS-3 in sight. Would you consider the PS-2 good for a...

Honestly, I think the Digitech Whammy will be the only pitch shifter you'll need
Is this the one you mean? Or the other bigger one with a foot pedal?

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

I was using the pitch shifter to beef up synths. With the fx600 I could just adjust the knobs and get satisfying sounds. The us600 is tied to specific notes ( IIRC - going back a couple of years ) so a less fun approach. There was also something about the sound / tone I didn't like. Instant nope. C...

Re: Octave/Pitch Shifter

I had the us600 but sold it after a couple of days. Just didn't enjoy using it, I found it sterile and was instantly disappointed. The pitchshifter on behringer fx600 multi fx pedal was more enjoyable. Hmm okey interesting! The fx600 is also a possibility. Im just gonna use it for making noise/ambi...
