A good book, in the canon of popular science titles. Together with Universality and Chaos, well worth a read.

Re: Yanni or Laurel

I hear Yanny. An interesting answer to this problem, and I am glad I can still hear high frequencies 😂

A little bit unrelated but interested:-

Re: Noise Guide zine

Still thinking about this, and toying with various ideas. Fake adverts. Or find people who want to participate / want promotion, on the basis that the advert is designed by "us" so that the aesthetic fits the rest of the zine. A page of "NoiseGuide" promotion to encourage potential new forum members...

Re: Looking for a label

Guerilla Noise Promotion; a concept worth exploring.

Idea:
Car boot sale a load of my old pop / chart / club CDs from my dj days, swap discs over with my own noise projects.

I like the idea of leaving CDs in random places with just a contact email or url on.

Soloman Tump - ongoing noise works

Listen to Barrage of lead pills by Soloman Tump #np on #SoundCloud

Latest noise offering, recorded a couple of days ago. Happier with the outcome of this track, and hopefully nobody will bitch about the frequencies I have used.

Re: >$100 Pedals

I got a Biyang "Time machine" for around £40, really solid build and surprisingly good range on it. https://www.cheaperpedals.com/products/biyang-delay-ad-10-time-machine The entire BABYBOOM range seems to get positive reviews, especially for the price bracket they are aiming for. (also, cheaperpeda...

Re: Library of Congress Pitch Shifting Tape Decks

This is really interesting, thanks for sharing.

The British Library have a project called sounds which is cataloguing different formats, plus playback / recording equipment. Some interesting old devices listed here:-

Re: Noise Guide zine

I often thought about paid ads, but for limited run zines with limited audience it makes no commercial sense. For the likes of Special Interests with higher print costs and bigger runs, I can see why people would want to pay for an advert. Print costs can be pretty cheap per copy for small runs, cos...

Re: Sturgeon

Hi everyone,

We're moving! So, the shop is going to be closed for a little while. If you have already placed an order, don't worry, it's either on its way or will get to you shortly.

We hope to reopen in late June. See you then!

Re: Noise Guide zine

So who wants to take the reigns on this? I have the means and experience to run this project.. I can receive page layouts either digitally or by snail mail, scan them and print them with a laser printer which is what I do with other zines I have made. I can eat the cost of postage in the US for sur...
