https://img0.etsystatic.com/048/0/6586534/il_570xN.672086678_5g73.jpg my library of congress tape deck for the blind doesn't need mods yet it does occasionally need new rubber band as replacement belt(just replaced the belt 3 days ago) I've got that same one, my roommate found it at a thrift store ...

Re: What's your laptop setup

I used to use exclusively guitar effects recorded directly into Reaper+plugins (with some pretty mediocre results  ), but I recently discovered a program called Music SDP that I believe is built in Max 8 that can do some pretty cool shit. https://www.musicsdp.com/ makes sound design a lot easi...

Re: noise production resource and discussion thread

thanks for the feedback. saying that the expander defines my sound is unfortunately accurate, that is a crutch that I rely on too often and that I need to move past. and the complaint about it being tepid is somewhat expected, admittedly it's a lot more ambient than noise. It was more just me immer...

Re: noise production resource and discussion thread

In the vein of what WhiteWarlock said, here's my EP on bandcamp. critique my mix. what can I do better? what did I do right? https://ihlyatt.bandcamp.com/releases and as far as gear and technique, I record guitar-based noise with effects pedals through multiple amps. generally I use cardioid mics (n...

Re: noise production resource and discussion thread

as far as my own input, this isn't going to be super technical or esoteric, I don't claim to be an expert. but I may as well contribute to my own thread. Variety of sound plugins have been essential to me as far as mixing and sound design go, especially the "RESCUE MKII" stereo-widener. tasteful use...

noise production resource and discussion thread

hey folks, I don't post here much but I lurk on occasion. I was wanting to start an actual discussion thread on noise production techniques- I am NOT starting a "how do I make noise, what do I need?" thread. I am well acquainted with gear and whatnot so I'm not looking for the standard "just mess wi...

Re: BEHRINGER

I have a Behringer EM600 Echo Machine Delay which is excellent, mainly because it's a clone/ripoff of a space echo.

Anyone bend one of these yet?
I'm probably gonna get one because of this thread (and of course, demos I've watched). sounds like a pretty good fuzz, especially considering the price.

Re: good dirt pedals for texture

Seeing as you've been looking at Last Gasp stuff, I'm assuming price isn't an issue so much. This may appeal to you then. Guy from here makes them. From demos I've seen/heard, it sounds just like what you described. Not cheap mind, but looks like an awesome bit of kit. http://www.rochambeau.net/dir...

good dirt pedals for texture

Hey guys, to preface, I am pretty (very) new here and have not been making noise for that long. However, I have been messing with guitar effects for a while, and already have a fairly substantial pedalboard (although I don't want to oversell myself; I only have 10 pedals currently on the board). All...
