Re: GRANULAR SYNTHESIS COMP

I started working on some new source tracks using granulab. I have a lot of old stuff, but I don't want to rely solely on it. New recordings are mostly drone-y stuff, though. Not necessarily anything I'd consider suitable on its own. Please keep extending the deadline indefinitely :3

Re: GRANULAR SYNTHESIS COMP

I can contribute some money to a physical release. $100-$150 is doable for me, even immediately (I need to double check my PayPal balance first). I need time for a track, though, because I practically live at work now. I am likely going to do everything with GranuLab. Maybe in 10 years time, we can ...

Re: Noise compilation

Inspired largely by a ring modulation-themed net compilation I submitted to a while back, I concluded that a compilation based on granular synthesis tracks would make for an exciting release. I have tons and tons of source material just using GranuLab. Obviously, the only requirement is that granula...

Re: Let's write a movie.

I think my dreams are more interesting than my reality, or at least more interesting than the mundane things I can describe. There's a whole 'nother "spiritual" (for lack of a better word) waking experience I can't "really" describe. The moon and moonlight play a big part in it. It's an indescribabl...

Re: Ensoniq Mirage questions and general chit-chat

That explanation makes a lot of sense if I understand it correctly, though I didn't even realize the Mirage could do this. Thanks. I need to reference the manual PDF and see if I can figure this out based on the description you gave. As for samples, I can't be bothered with prefab shit. The little b...

Ensoniq Mirage questions and general chit-chat

I've had the rack mount version for years, as mi madre got it at a shockingly-low price as a gift for me. Only within the last two months, after having it for ~7+ years, have I finally bought some generic (read: bootleg) OS/formatting disks for it, and was very happy to find that it works. It's a be...

Re: Your recent purchases:

Re: Yamaha PSS-XXX I learned about the mono mode recently, looking into the synth before I bought it. It's handy, but a bit of a hassle to instigate (I still haven't memorized the procedure). Anyway, I would really like to get a PSS-380. My household had one when I was no older than 6-7, and I have ...

Re: Your recent purchases:

I want a Mel9, but I can only reasonably afford a Mel5 right now. Anyway, the last thing I bought was another Yamaha PSS-480 . I traded the first one I owned several years ago, and for some reason decided I needed to own one again. My recording/noisemaking gear is all in perpetually-frozen flux, so ...

Re: a new misc gear/diy inspiration photos thread

There was a time when I really wanted an e-meter. Still do, but they're too expensive. They come in so many cool colors, just like KitchenAid blenders.

Looks like something I can't afford + It's most likely not even a justifiable price for beep-boop boxes: Instantly uninterested.
