Guys are there enough behringer-hate threads around here?
Seriously.

Digest the "there is no such thing as bad press" adage and move the fuck on!

Yeah, OP, you should be fine. Just remember sometime shit breaks anyway. Live a little.

Not In My Backyard!

I see the "power" of purism still holds, hahahaha.

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

I reckon a distortion would just give you more squarewave, but I never tried a compressor in a feedback loop by itself. If I wasn't so lazy I'd give it a go. I love planting a 3630 in a feedback loop, you can do some damage with ratio, threshold, attack, release, and level... not to mention the duc...

Re: No Input Mixing - Purism

I think "purism" as a label hit's slightly askew of the intended mark, as the concept of purism is abused with abandon in our circles. I prefer to think on these things as a discipline. It's easier to see that any tendency towards purism would most probably be quite counterproductive. becomes a more...

Re: going digital

In that case, many inexpensive digital recorders will allow you to "one shot" chunks of field recordings/whatever.

Just a bent bit of wire can work, like a bent out coat hanger.

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

is it really just creating basic opamp feedback loops as OSC w/FX units? Yup. From a purist standpoint we're just looking at the preamp block feeding the EQ stack and summing section on back to the input forming up a manual oscillator with poor steady state level control. Once FX are in play I tend...

Re: BEHRINGER

Got to say I'm curious about this new one they are coming out with. Run stereo mains, monitor and sub from one amp? https://media.music-group.com/media/PLM/data/images/products/P0B1R/1800Wx1800H/NU4-6000_P0B1R_Right_L.png? Oh man, I'm such a fan of keeping power supplies between the amplifiers as s...

Re: NIMB & Harsh Noise

If I'm understanding what you're after, I would recommend finding a way to amplify floor noise before engaging a loop. A long branch (not folded back in) input feeding the loop perhaps. Grabbing the latest and greatest low noise mixer (or cheap knock off copy) might not be the easiest path in this, ...

I've been fascinated by the Telharmonium. All examples probably melted as scrap for flinging at people in a war effort of some sort.

Re: Unconventional Use Of A DBX 118

My experience with dynamic enhancers (not that model though) is that they run out of headroom too fast if you're not feeding it compressed signal locked into whatever level window you have set.

How far can you push the rails to sidestep this feature?

Re: >$100 Pedals

Always pull a datasheet, most modern stuff used in effects pedals these days runs 3.3. There's also a lower volt class than that, but us neaderthals in the audio world won't see a lot of that for a few years yet. Therefore.. yeah... thanks for response... except was making more specific reference t...

you can try testing chip power voltage at CMOS chips
should be +5v
