Re: Show us yr DIY!

Yeah, I even have a list next to my desk of "universal bends" including starve pot, mute, bypass, etc. Funny enough that halloween flashlight had some good starve sounds. Usually those kinds if toys, the ones where the ICs are covered up by black blobs, simply cut off the sample they're playing earl...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

http://i67.tinypic.com/k0ripv.jpg Two fairly simple bends: just switched 1/8" jacks. There was nothing else of interest to add for either of yhem, except maybe a resistor to smooth out the volume a bit. Also both of them have this sort of delay period when being switched from jack output to speaker...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Is that just a bag of metal? Yep. Weird, right? The jig was set up in a way so that the speaker is held in place between the orange circle with the eight-pointed star pattern of holes (as can be seen from the outside, looking at the top of the flashlight) and that orange container with the three nu...

For some reason, they felt the need to add some weight to this undeservingly complex jig for the speaker:

Re: Show us yr DIY!

This bend didn't come to be as it was a frustrating clusterfuck, but I'm posting these here to give you guys an idea of my process when starting a bend, and just in case someone else finds this same toy:

Re: Show us yr DIY!

^Ring connectors are a good idea, will definitely have to get some more (believe it or not I don't have a stash of those, despite having a stash of pretty much everything else I could think of for bending/building). What is machine thread? All I get through google is sewing-related. Similarly, do yo...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Untitled.jpg White noise/relaxation machine with 37 contact points, 1 of which is a pitch bend (the brass fastener in the center) and 36 of which colectively double as a crude sort of patch bay. Effects range from voice changer-like sounds to glitchy digital delays to dirty distortion and then some...

Re: Calling it quits

LOL that would be kinda dope. Thing is, I do have a friend in 10564, though without getting into too much speculation about her private life, I think she has too much on her plate at the moment. I'd also like to think I'm on good term with a few other artists in Madison and Milwaukee, even if the fo...

FS: tapes + CDs

As promised, I'll start selling off some things from my collection; there may be more coming, and not necessarily just things to listen to, so keep that in mind if the selection here seems rather meager to you. Currently only accepting $$$ through Paypal (no trades): anotherarbitraryalias@gmail.com ...

Calling it quits

As I've struggled these past years to establish my own definitive harsh noise sound, within the only methods I can comprehend to achieve that goal, I've come to the conclusion that I simply don't enjoy the process anymore. Starting in 2015, I casually recorded hours' and eventually days' worth of ma...
