Re: Sea of Poppies - S/T - my first noise album

Say, the name "Sea of Poppies:" is that a reference to WWI?

Re: Sea of Poppies - S/T - my first noise album

Hey, not bad! If I had to pick out a negative, the last track is a little echo-happy. I only listened to a few seconds of each, though, so I can't give an honest critique. Everyone does noise differently, some people get into a 'flow' that's better off not being broken for the sake of adding/subtrac...

Everything I know I learned from my older sister. :!: I had no idea you even had a sister. Funny how often years of exposure to industrial/noise/esoteric/conspiracy/zine/synth culture ends up giving americans identical political views to the stereotypical english The Sun + Daily Mail-reading white van man :chin:
What do you mean? Genuinely curious.

Re: CHEFKIRK - "Make Post"

On a similar note, while I don't like everything you put out, I always check it out because it's almost gauranteed to be fun and/or not depressing. A nice reprieve from the usual glut of trite b/w xerox power electronics tapes that choke up discogs. In particular, your floppy disk on floppy kick is ...

Re: Making "Endless" Cassete Loop Tapes

In my... let's say, less than amiable experience with tape loops, I've consistently had the most success with the 372mm method outlined in Tim's link, though I think I might've extended it to 374mm to better success. It's difficult to find the right amount of slack doing it the 'old fashioned' way. ...

A couple years ago Crank Sturgeon was playing and two nit wits slithered in and started shouting "what's up with the klan hat" and "Black Lives Matter".. everyone turned around and looked at them the same way.
That's just classless.

I second the motion to replace "no-input" with "self-sourced."

Re: No Input Mixing - Purism

Or yea what xdugef said "No input" is such a misnomer anyway. If anything, it should be "feedback loop mixer" or "no external source mixer," or something else that rolls off the tongue better; "no input" implies no inputs (and no returns, as they are essentially inputs too) are being used e.g. the ...

Nah, MKULTRA wins on design/build; plus most of those pots are just some variation of a feedback-like tone.

You want to degauss any metal used for the cut for pop free splices as well.

Re: Matrix Mixer

Fascinating... so in theory anything could have an inversion switch, correct? Yet the most impact it could have is on the output stage e.g. speakers, headphones, etc. So then would it be worth it to add a polarity to switch to pedals like you said, or is that redundant? It sounds to me like correcti...
