Re: Distortion, Overdrive and Fuzz Pedals - Image Gallery

Nah, MKULTRA wins on design/build; plus most of those pots are just some variation of a feedback-like tone.

You want to degauss any metal used for the cut for pop free splices as well.
:!: Never even considered that, thanks!

Re: Matrix Mixer

Fascinating... so in theory anything could have an inversion switch, correct? Yet the most impact it could have is on the output stage e.g. speakers, headphones, etc. So then would it be worth it to add a polarity to switch to pedals like you said, or is that redundant? It sounds to me like correcti...

Re: Matrix Mixer

My Secret Satan on ILF gifted me a Pladask Elektrisk Matrise which is a 4x4 active matrix mixer with selectable polarity on each output column. It fucking rules. So I've been soing some research on phase inversion, as this is the first time I've ever heard of such a feature, let alone as a feature ...

Re: Tips, Tricks & Devices

So it switches between two pots? Could you please elaborate on where the 'balancing' comes in?

Re: Show us yr DIY!

Roughly a year ago I acquired one of these things: snick0.jpg It's basically a doorstop that makes a 'wew-wew-wew-wew' sound when the pedal is pressed down, and loops indefinitely until the door/foot/whatever is removed. I thought this would be great for a pedal of a different kind, but to make a lo...

What was once this... cool-keys-kids-electronic-musical_1_e944f9cc8e081c8b0ff041af0ddbb80d.jpeg ...became this: 1.jpg This is a little 8-bit-sounding keyboard toy modded with a 1/4" jack and a pitch knob. The bizarre wire coming out of it acts as a kind of stylus, used for playing the 'keys' on the ...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

ddd.jpg Adorably anachronistic beeper/brick phone toy circuit bent with two contacts that serve as a pitch bend. Much more butch than the switchbox. The yellow zip ties at the melty top hold a salvaged switch to toggle between speaker and jack outputs, as a switched 1/4" jack was too big to impleme...

Re: Show us yr DIY!

a.jpg This is a switchbox that essentially switches channels e.g. input A goes to output B and input B goes to output A when activated. Same principle applies for ins/outs C/D. b.jpg Continuing to improve upon my craft. Lot's of things I would do differently here should I do it again some time, chi...

Re: Tips on starting tape label

Expect to lose money, be happy if you don't. This. I'm going to try and condense most of my thoughts here into a rule of thumb: what equipment is best for you, aside from cost, is entirely dictated by how you present your label and how you want your releases to sound. Personally I like having a dua...

Re: Minnie – Demos

I liked Distant Faith and Vasterled. Reminded me of one of my earliest introductions to noise. I can't be of much help on the technical side of things, I'm afraid. How do you record normally? Explaining that would give us an idea of where to start.
